1. SAFETY/HAZARD MONITORING
The use of sensors to indicate conditions or events that are unsafe or potentially unsafe.
Objectives:
To protect human

ZONE IDENTITY
LEVEL 1(Green):
Name: Perimeter penetration
Function of sensor: To detect an intruder has crossed the perimeter boundary of the work cell without regard to the location of the intruder.
Security feature: Fence surrounded with sensor(FIGURE 1.63).

LEVEL 2(Yellow):
Name: Intruder detection in the workcell
Function of sensor: To detect the presence an intruder in the region between the workcell boundary and the limit of the robot work volume.
Security feature: Pressure sensitive floor mat (FIGURE 1.64).

FUNCTION: To sense the weight of someone standing on the mat
LEVEL 3(Red):
Name: Intruder detection inside the robot work volume
SENSOR TYPE:Close proximity sensor
FUNCTION: To detect the presence an intruder and executing a strategy for avoiding collision(FIGURE 1.65).

2. INTERLOCKING
